Have you reached the point where you now depend on a teacher manual to check your student’s math work? Have you had to relearn everything right along with them? Do you shudder at the words “coefficient”, “polynomial” and “algebraic equation”? If you’re spread thin and are looking for a workable solution to your student’s upper level math courses, Math-U-See is a logical choice. Using visual aids and explaining WHY we do what we do in solving math equations is one of the benefits of Demme’s plan for higher mathematics. Each lesson teaches a new concept in manageable portions while revisiting prior lessons to keep the concepts fresh in mind. Practical applications for daily life will be an important area of focus. Along with learning new concepts in each class period, the students will have plenty of time for questions and individual help on new concepts. For questions outside of class, students will be able to access a facebook page where they will receive help on concepts with which they are struggling. One-on-one tutoring will also be available to those that require this service on an as-needed basis at an additional tuition rate. An honors component is also available.
Materials Needed:
· MUS Pre-Algebra Student Pack 2009 Edition (includes Student Workbook and Tests)
· Integer Block Kit (133 piece block set)
· Algebra/Decimal Inserts
· 3-ring binder (2 inch)
· 4 tab dividers
· Loose-leaf paper Pencils
