It's Not A Holiday Sock Hop Details, Rules & Guidelines
We'll have music and dancing, as well as tables, chairs and a wide selection of games for those who may not want to dance. Light snacks and refreshments as well.
Around 8:30 PM we will have our "Regifting Gift Exchange" game!
Be sure your "regifted" gift is something you wouldn't mind receiving (no gag gifts please). It can be a regift or a new gift (suggested value around $10).
How we'll play:- You will put one of your matching socks you brought into a basket and put the other on your hand.
- You will grab the wrapped gift you brought.
- You will then choose a sock out of the basket full of socks.
- You will walk around to find who is wearing the sock that matches the one you chose from the basket.
- When you do, you'll claim your gift, from your sock-twin :-).
- All the while, someone will also be looking for you, as their sock-twin, to claim the gift you brought!
This is a "Drop-Off" Event
- All attendees must check in on arrival. A chaperone will be outside checking people in.
- Parents are welcome to gather outside. We know some people are traveling to the event, parents are welcome to gather outside the venue to visit, we just ask you do not block the parking area or the entrance to the dance. There are some restaurants in walking distance, as well as Video Game World if you have younger siblings with you. The venue is just not large enough to accommodate all the guests, their parents and siblings. A map of nearby locations will be provided.
- Attendance is conditional upon respectful behavior at the discretion of the hosts. Parents will be notified of any disruptive behavior.
- There are volunteer parents that will be running and chaperoning the dance. We appreciate parents offering to chaperone, but we can not accept all of the offers. We simply do not have enough space to accommodate everyone.
Food
- PLEASE DO NOT BRING OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINKS! Light snacks and refreshments will be provided. There are no outside food or drinks allowed in the facility to keep this is a Nut-Free allergen event. If you have other allergen concerns, please contact jbennetti.thsg@gmail.com prior to October 18.
Music
- All of the music played at this event are clean radio edited versions of the Top 100 Hits.
- We can not take song requests. Music is purchased before the dance and is being provided by volunteers rather than a professional DJ.
