Cross Country Camp - 5th-12th Graders - Greater Cabarrus Athletic Association

Thank you Kim H. for sharing this!

Greater Cabarrus Athletic Association

Cross Country Camp

When: July 10-14, 2017 - 8:00 - 10:30 AM

Where: Franke Liske Park (meet at the parking lot by the lake)

Cost: $10 per person ($30 family max) will cover Gatorade, fruit, snacks, and equipment for the week.

The Goal: to discover and promote interest in GCAA’s Cross Country program, to introduce new runners to the sport of Cross Country, and to prepare experienced runners for a successful season.

All interested 5th-12th graders are welcome! Siblings younger than 5th grade may tag along provided there is a parent on the premises at all times and they pay the fee to participate in snacks.

  • Brand new runners will come away having covered the distance of a 5K twice and having been introduced to critical components of XC such as dynamic stretching, hills, lateral movement, and core strength.
  • Experienced and returning runners may expect to run at least 20 miles during the week, and should be prepared to push themselves during the hills, interval work, and strength training.
While this week is designed to be encouraging and motivating for all levels of experience and strength, it will be a time of hard work and an opportunity to push yourself to the limit. Come excited to see results!

Please email kaitlyngrace99@gmail.com mailto:kaitlyngrace99@gmail.com with the name, age, and approximate running experience of your child to sign up!
